The Main Mercury Ribbon
The main ribbon is always present on Mercury’s main window. It has two tabs: Home and Print Options.
The Home Tab
Most of the items on the Home menu are enabled only when you are working with a report on the canvas.
General
Layout
- Split Horizontal - Creates a new horizontal result-tab group based on the currently selected report-result-tab.
- Split Vertical - Creates a new vertical result-tab group based on the currently selected report-result-tab.
- Restore Layout - Consolidates all report result tabs into a single group.
If your main window ever loses its result-area completely (with the report-list taking up the entire window), Ctrl-click the Restore Layout button on the Home ribbon. Mercury will reset the main window to the default arrangement.
The Print Options Tab (Common Sections)
Some sections in the Print Options tab vary based on whether you’re working with a pivot-report or a table-report. Those report-specific sections are not shown in the example below. See Pivot Reports > Printing or Table Reports > Printing for details on report-specific printing options.

The common sections are General (for doing the actual printing), and Header / Footer, for controlling what you want to see.
General - buttons for print-preview and quick-print. See the Home Tab above for details; these buttons are exactly the same as the ones on the Home Tab.
Header on Report - content to include in the report header (every page). The Company Name and Logo are specified as part of the Mercury installation. Parameters will include the parameter values used to run the report. Favorite shows, if applicable, the name of the Favorite on which the report is based. For more on Favorites, see Pivot Reports > Favorites or Table Reports > Favorites.
Footer on Report - content to include in the report footer (every page). User Name is your Windows login name. ID is the ID# of the report as shown in your main reports list.
